Calathea crocata 5-6 flower 14cm Pot x 1
Calathea Crocata A tropical houseplant with 5-6 blooms! The Calathea crocata is a stunning plant which reveals its tantalising dark and velvety leaves showing glimpses of their claret undersides as they gently unfurl. This tropical stunner makes a striking house plant even before the bright saffron-yellow flowers blossom between April and October. The blooms are borne over the leaves on upright stems, making a strikingly beautiful contrast. This spectacular house plant makes a superb focal point. Like all Calatheas, this leafy perennial enjoys filtered bright light, but should be kept well away from the scorch of direct sun. Keep away from cold draughts and radiators and in a room with a constant temperature of above 16C (60F), but between 18C (65F) to 24C (75F) is preferred. Water Calathea freely between spring and autumn using tepid rainwater if possible, and make sure the pot can drain well after. In winter, reduce watering but do not let the soil completely dry out. Feed regularly between March and September when they are in active growth. Calathea appreciates a humid atmosphere, so place it on a tray filled with pebbles and water. As the water evaporates it will increase humidity around the plant. Height and spread: 50cm (20). Please note: Some houseplants are toxic to pets if ingested, please seek advice from a veterinary professional if you believe it has been consumed. Ensure you take a sample of the plant with you. The size of the plant will differ depending on when in the year it is purchased – visuals are an indication only.
