Rhodochiton atrosanguineus
This unusual perennial makes an exotic patio climber or conservatory focal point. The twining stems are cloaked in attractive, heart-shaped leaves. From July through to autumn, the maroon-red, pendant blooms dangle from the stems producing an intriguing display. Rhodochiton atrosanguineus requires frost free conditions. Container-grown plants should be moved to a frost free greenhouse in winter. Plants grown in borders are unlikely to survive the winter outdoors and are therefore best treated as annuals. Height: 250cm (98). Spread: 60cm (24).
