Coral Cactus Euphorbia lactea
Coral Cactus Euphorbia lactea Modern and contemporary house plant for the home! Well known as Coral Cactus, this spiny-looking Euphorbia lactea ‘Cristata’ is a low maintenance tender variety that makes a modern and contemporary feature in the home. The stems are irregular and a lot of them develop a curved fan shape which is similar to sea coral. The stems have white marbling and have a contrasting reddish hue along the edge which really highlights their unusual, varied shapes. This variety will love a place in your home which will receive plenty of sunlight. It is undemanding and drought tolerant which means you only must water it very occasionally when the soil is dried out completely. Height: 35cm (14”). Spread: 15cm (6”). Grow cacti in full light with some shelter from the hottest midday sun. An average temperature of 10- 23C (50-75F) is ideal. Many Cacti can tolerate lower temperatures though down to a minimum of 5C (40F). Cactus plants are slow-growing so patience is a must! In the summer months, water cacti regularly with soft water or rainwater. Allow the soil to dry out slightly each time. Do not leave Cacti in standing water as this will cause them to rot. Feed regularly between March and September when they are inactive growth. In winter, while the plant is dormant, gradually reduce watering and allow the compost to remain dry until early spring again. Please note: Some houseplants are toxic to pets if ingested, please seek advice from a veterinary professional if you believe it has been consumed. Ensure you take a sample of the plant with you. The size of the plant will differ depending on when in the year it is purchased – visuals are an indication only.
