Cornus Royal Red
Cornus Royal Red This variety of Flowering Dogwood has become a must-have designer plant! From May until July it produces a profusion of bracts in a vibrant red, when Autumn approaches its flowers to leave behind a mass of shiny egg-shaped leaflets in a shade of deep red and purple. Cornus ‘Royal Red’ is a compact growing variety of Cornus, which makes it perfect for growing in large containers on a patio or as a central specimen plant in a cottage garden. Cornus Florida ‘Cherokee Chief’ spreads to 180cm and grows in height to around 180cm also. It is easy to care for, requiring full sun with partial shade. This Flowering Dogwood is fantastic because you have the option to grow it as a fully developed tree or as a shrub, it sits well in any sized garden but looks extra special in wildlife and woodland gardens.
