Ficus Indian Rubber Plant
The rubber plant gets its name from the white latex running through its veins, which used to be used to make rubber. The thick glossy green leaves even have a rubber-like look to them. It will grow upright and form a beautiful plant which can be put on centre stage. They are easy to grow and will be very happy in a bright room but with plenty of shade available too. The perfect accompaniment for a north facing room. Keep away from cold draughts and radiators, and will need a constant temperature of 16C (60F) and 24C (75F). Be sure to not leave it in a room which can drop in temperature dramatically as this can cause its leaves to drop. Water regularly between Spring and Autumn, allowing the pot to drain in between each watering. In the winter months reduce the amount of watering and let the compost dry out. Feed can be provided during active growth periods between March and September. Height Up To 300cm (118in) Spread Up To 150cm (59in) Please Note: Some houseplants are toxic to pets if ingested, please seek advice from a veterinary professional if you believe it has been consumed. Ensure you take a sample of the plant with you. The size of the plant will differ depending on when in the year it is purchased ? visuals are an indication only.
