Forsythia Intermedia Nimbus
Forsythia Intermedia Nimbus A small shrub full of big personality! This stunning compact Forsythia Intermedia ‘Nimbus’ may be on the smaller side, but it makes an impressively big impact in the garden in early spring when it erupts into a profusion of vibrant yellow blooms and rich foliage. Growing to 75cm (30") high, it’s characteristics are a must-have in the garden and become a knockout display in a pot or border. This colourful shrub is ideal if you plan to include it in a flower border, but it also wouldn’t look out of place at the front of a shrub border too! Its handy smaller size makes it a super easy low-maintenance option for a winter patio container, on its own or combined with other winter and spring interest plants. Another tip would be is that this versatile shrub is also great for tucking into parts of the border or narrow front garden beds, it can fit it most places you may desire. Height: 75cm (30"). Spread: 75cm (30"). Grow Forsythia plants in moist, well-drained soil in full sun or semi-shade. Feed and water your Forsythia plants regularly until fully established. Container grown plants will require annual dressing with a balanced, slow-release fertiliser and regular watering throughout the summer months. Border grown plants will require less attention. In late spring after flowering has finished, prune Forsythia by cutting back all flowered shoots to a healthy pair of leaves. On established Forsythia plants, cut back up to a fifth of the oldest shoots to their base, to encourage healthy new growth and improve flowering. Apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or other organic matter around the base of the plant after pruning.
