Seed Potatoes – Blight Tolerant Collection
These five varieties we have found best combining blight tolerance with taste. Particularly useful in the recent British summers. Collection contains 5kg (1kg of each variety): Setanta – Red skinned maincrop with perhaps the highest blight tolerance of any potato. Superb tasting and easy to grow. Ideal for jacket, roast and chips. Maincrop. Nicola – Colour – yellow. Shape – long oval. High yielding variety, stores well. Tasty ‘new’ potato variety. Waxy flesh. Salad. Cara – Makes very tasty mashed and baked potatoes. Maincrop. Colleen – A high yielding variety producing round-oval tubers that have white skin and light yellow flesh. First Early. Sarpo Mira – Red, oval, unprecedented blight resistance, good slug resistance, vigorous weed suppressing foliage and it grows well in a wide range of soils. Maincrop. Quality Control – following inspection our seed potatoes receive a certification number (see bag label). They are size graded within riddle size 35mm x 60mm to achieve the ideal size, although shape will vary due to season and variety. A final visual examination takes place prior to packing. Note: a 1kg pack of a typical variety should contain over 10 tubers. Order Despatch – Potatoes are sent separately, in specially secure cartons, and will be despatched from December onwards, weather permitting. Please note that we monitor weather conditions daily during critical periods and do not despatch when frosty periods are forecast.
